ACTIVITIES

2005 GOLF OUTING

The 2nd Annual Golf Outing, took place on Friday September 16, 2005 at beautiful Highland Woods Golf Course, which is the Cook County Forest Preserve's northwest suburban championship course. This year the Chicago-Colombia Lions Club teamed up with Klein and Hoffman, Inc. (Structural & Restoration Engineers) to host this ever growing event and together were able to triple the number of participants from last year's golf outing.
Due to a tremendous response from local sponsors, we were afforded the luxury of including perks normally only seen in large corporate golf outings, such as a BBQ buffet dinner, door & competition prizes, as well as raffled giveaways.
Needless to say, the event was a complete success not only in terms of funds raised, but in FUN being had by everyone...."FOOORE!" (...well, almost everyone)

2005 BOWLING NIGHT

The 2nd Annual Bowling Night, was held on saturday August 20, 2005 at Brunswick Zone Bowling alley in suburban Naperville, Illinois.
This year we were honored with the presence of District 1-A Governor Lion Dennis McMillan and Vice Governor Lion Allen Warshaw with their respective spouses.
Once again, due to the hard work of many of our members, the event enjoyed an overwhelming turnout by family and friends, as strikes & spares were heard throughout the night....(yeah, right! wishful thinking)....for some of us the sounds were more like "gutter ball".

2006 DISTRICT 1-A CONVENTION

The 38th Annual District 1-A Convention, will take place April 21 thru 23, 2006. The Chicago-Colombia Lions Club will be hosting a "Hospitality Room" on the nights of the 21st and the 22nd. Plenty of food and music, traditional to Colombia, as well as games and drinks will be available for all to enjoy

MONTHLY MEETINGS & FELLOWSHIP

In 2006, club meetings are normally being held on the 3rd Saturday of every month. Following the meetings, it has become customary for club members to stick around and enjoy each others company with a few drinks, food, and maybe even some dancing....Que viva la rumba Carajo!! (that's "lets Party" for those of you who are spanish challenged)

MISCELLANEOUS ACTIVITIES

The Chicago-Colombia Lions Club engages in several activities throughout the year, in an effort to promote "Lionism" and raise the necessary funds required to fulfill our commitment to helping the less fortunate.
In 2004, thanks to the hard work and dedication of our members, we were very successful in achieving some of our goals.
In 2005, we have continued to work hard and unite as a group with very successful events such as the second annual "Bowling Night" on August 20th, and the second annual "Golf Outing" on September 16th, with an ever growing participation from family and friends (See full story above). The annual "Candy Day" scheduled for October will helped raised much needed awarness and funds, and the third annual "Bingo Night" scheduled for December will close-up the year.
Please visit this site often for updates on all our events.
